Before proceeding with the installation process, verify that the air bag system is operating properly. Turn the ignition system to the "ON" position, then verify that the "Air Bag" check light performs it normal check, which takes 3 - 5 seconds. Once the check is complete, the light will extinguish. If any problems persist, the light will come back on. Depending on the make and model of vehicle, the light will either flash or be constant. If the air bag light does indicate a problem, DO NOT PROCEED WITH THE INSTALLATION! The system MUST be repaired and in operating order, before a switch can be installed.
